This bustling scene depicts a view of the Place de l'Opera square in Paris, France. People can be seen walking on the right and cars are driving near the entrance of the famous building. The painting sits in a carved antique French frame. 

Jules-René Hervé was a French painter born in 1887. He was a student at Diderot College in Langres but later moved to Paris in 1908. At the School of Decorative Arts, he continued his studies. Jules-René was most known for his depictions of Paris and the French countryside. He devoted himself to mastering the techniques of Claude Monet.
