This piece features a close-up of The Statue of Liberty's face. Her arm frames her face on the left while the sky frames her face on the right. The sky behind is a gradient from dark blue to purple to pink. 

Boutwell specialized in teaching writing based on a structural approach. His concern in art follows his concern for the form of writing and literature.
