An antique tastevin wine tasting cup enclosing an 1768 Spanish coin. The wine tasting cup is shallow with hammered ribs and ornamentation and a single handle. The base of the cup is formed around a 1768 Mexican Spanish Colonial eight reales coin. The coin has a 0.917 silver content with the obverse showing crowned globes flanked by pillars and the reverse depicting a crowned shield bearing quartered lions rampant and castles.
