Salvador Dalí

Lithograph on Arches paper

Edition 142/300

Not framed

Signed in pencil 142/300 on the bottom left.

This piece represented Dalí's renewed hope in religious leadership following the devastation of World War II. It features an assemblage of religious scenes and other symbols with personal significance to Dalí that he often repeated in his works. These include God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, a dove, Dalí's wife Gala, a scene from the Papal coronation, and the Cap de Creus cliffs. Dami also included a self-portrait in the bottom left corner.

Salvador Dalí was an icon of Surrealism, the 20th-century avant-garde movement that sought to release unconscious creative potential through art that featured dreamlike imagery.
