A mid 19th-century French sterling silver tastevin with inset Louis Philippe I 1838 5-Franc coin to the bottom The coin shows a bust of the king in profile, while the bottom shows a laurel wreath encircling the words "5 Francs/1813. Angled scalloping lines the interior body of the cup in order to help reflect light through the wine and revcel its truest color. The tastevin is marked with the 1st standard "Minerva" hallmark and another halimark that appears with the letters "M" and "R" flanking a fruit like form, both impressed to the side. The circular handle also appears to have been impressed with hallmarks, although illegible.
